JET AIRWAYS
Efforts doubled to
spot unauthorized
passengers
Jet Airways, which operates
daily flights from Toronto’s
Pearson international airport
to destinations in India
and beyond via its European
hub in Brussels, announced
that it has been advised of unauthorized
passengers trying to
enter Canada.
In response to the situation,
Jet Airways is working closely
with the Canadian Border Security
Agency (CBSA) to prevent
the boarding of such passengers
on its flights.
The CBSA has provided the
airline’s frontline customer
service and security staff, in
India and Brussels, with the
training to better profile and
detect such passengers and
their passports.
“An increasing number of
such cases has been detected
by Jet Airways staff,” said B.
Chandrashekar, Jet Airways’
General Manager for Canada.
“The airline is committed to
working with the CBSA to eliminate
the problem.”
Jet Airways currently operates
a fleet of 80 aircraft, with
an average age of 4.38 years,
making it one of the youngest
aircraft fleets in the world.
Flights to more than 60 destinations
span the length and
breadth of India and beyond,
including New York, Toronto,
Brussels, London (Heathrow),
Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala
Lumpur, Colombo, Bangkok,
Kathmandu, Dhaka, Kuwait,
Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Abu
Dhabi and Dubai. The airline
plans to extend operations to
other cities in North America,
Europe, Africa and Asia with
the introduction of additional
wide-body aircraft into its fleet.
